Fifth ThirdEarly Pay

When you have an eligible direct deposit to your Fifth Third Momentum^® Checking, Fifth Third Momentum^® Savings, Fifth Third Express Banking^®, or Fifth Third Preferred Checking account^®, you get Early Pay automatically.

Early Pay grants access to your direct deposit up to two days prior to the scheduled payment date. Early availability of your paycheck is based on when we receive the deposit information from your employer or payor.

Not at all! It’s free to anyone with a Fifth Third Momentum^® Checking, Fifth Third Momentum Savings^®, Fifth Third Express Banking^®, or Fifth Third Preferred Checking^® account. So, if you haven’t already, set up your direct deposit to start enjoying an early payday.

Early Pay will start on the first, eligible direct deposit that you receive into your account. Note that once you set up direct deposit to an account, it may take up to 1-2 pay periods before your direct deposit is received in that account. This depends on when your employer submits payroll information to us.¹

There's no guarantee you'll always receive your paycheck up to two days early, since it depends on when we receive each payroll deposit from your employer. That's why it's important to monitor your accounts to make sure your direct deposit is available before spending funds.

Not all direct deposits may be eligible for Early Pay. Qualifying deposits include:

• paychecks
• tax refunds
• some retirement payments
• child support 
• government benefits like Social Security

Bank-to-bank transfers, person-to-person payments (like Zelle^®), and real-time payments don’t qualify.

When your Early Pay is available, we'll send a notification through our mobile app. Make sure to download the app and turn on Early Pay notifications at Profile > Alerts > Manage Alerts > Manage by Account.
