Historic West End

Let’s collaborate:

Going Further Together

Fifth Third has made $99.8 million in direct investments into West End over the past three years and catalyzed $37.8 million in additional leverage in the neighborhood for a total impact of $137.6 million.

Our local lead neighborhood organization is Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) of Charlotte. Over the past year, through our program, the work of the partners has focused on facilitating a food security partnership for seniors at Johnson C. Smith University, expanding a small business grant program funded by the Fifth Third Foundation, and conducting best practice research on the conversion of low-income housing tax credit investments from rental to homeownership.

Creating Opportunity in Historic West End

Ralphine Caldwell is the executive director of Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) of Charlotte and speaks of the “incredible strides” the partners are making.

She says, “Historic West End is…rich in culture, full of opportunity. The Fifth Third program has really come into the neighborhood and…brought opportunity for a neighborhood that was once disinvested. We are grateful for Fifth Third Bank, the…program, and the capital and technical assistance they have provided to our partners and to us.”
