Going Further Together
Fifth Third has invested $14.9 million in direct investments into the Near East Side neighborhood—located in Columbus, Ohio—and catalyzed $3 million in additional leverage investments in the neighborhood, which has resulted in a total financial impact of $17.9. million.
But we know that when we work together, we can achieve so much more. Our lead local community partner is PACT (Partners Achieving Community Transformation). Our key engagement activities include supporting PACT’s new executive director and the organization’s development of a Request for Expression of Ideas (REI) for PACT-owned land.
The program also has helped to initiate conversations around faith-based development in Near East Side.
Offering Solutions in Near East Side
Sheldon Johnson is the executive director of PACT, our lead local community partner. He says, "We need partners like Fifth Third to come to the table with creative solutions. It’s not just about dollars but tying it to the technical assistance, having partners like Enterprise Community Partners come and help us learn more about what other things are happening in different communities, having experts to work with and be in constant communication with really allows us to focus on the implementation and doing the work that is going to service our neighbors."
