Arlington Woods

Let’s collaborate:

Going Further Together

Fifth Third has invested $9.9 million into the Arlington Woods neighborhood—located in Indianapolis, Indiana—and catalyzed $1.7 million in additional leverage investments in the neighborhood, which has resulted in a total financial impact of $11.6 million.

But we know that when we work together, we can achieve so much more. Our lead local community partner is JEWEL Human Services, Inc., the community-building arm of Eastern Star Church.

The ROCK (Renewing Our Community for the Kingdom) Initiative is the name of JEWEL Human Services’ plan to enhance a sense of community among the neighborhood, broaden the range of affordable housing options, grow residents’ overall financial security and enhance available educational opportunities.

Creating Opportunity in Arlington Woods

Tamela Saunders is director of community development for Eastern Star Church, our lead local community partner. She says, "The residents [in Arlington Woods] love the area and they put their lives into it. We’ve started partnering [with] and seeing small businesses that before did not have opportunity, didn’t know the opportunity was available to them in the community. Fifth Third’s program has allowed JEWEL Human Services to fund an amazing cohort, Black Business Entrepreneurship Incubator."
