Loan-Payment Hardship Concerns

Policies are in place to help address shutdown-related hardship concerns. If you are experiencing hardship regarding a mortgage, equity loan or line of credit, small business loan, auto loan or credit card, now or in the future, contact a representative at 866-601-6391 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST Monday through Friday.

There are several potential options, depending on the type of loan you have. When we receive your application, we will review it for eligibility and determine which solutions best fit your circumstances. Some of the solutions available may include:

• The interest rate may be lowered.
• The term of the loan may be extended.
• Your monthly payments may be deferred.

You can complete an online application to apply for hardship assistance.

Checking and Other Accounts

If you have a checking account or other accounts with Fifth Third that are impacted by the shutdown, we are also available to discuss your situation. Customer support representatives are available at 800-972-3030 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. EST Monday through Friday to answer your questions. These representatives will be able to direct you to the correct teams to assist you as needed, including any relief related to overdraft or other fees resulting from the shutdown.
