On Tuesday, September 8, 2026, your Comerica accounts will transition to Fifth Third Bank.
We know a change like this can bring questions, and we’re working hard every day to make this transition as smooth as possible. You will continue to have access to your accounts, your money and your everyday banking services, with your local team to support you. Effective immediately, you can take advantage of no-fee access to Fifth Third ATMs. Use your Comerica debit card at any Fifth Third ATM with no ATM surcharge.
Below you’ll find an overview of what to expect along the way. As the transition approaches, you’ll receive more detailed communications and updates by mail and email throughout the process.
What you need to do
- Carefully review communications we send you. Examples of communications you may receive include:
- Move any money you’ll need for Labor Day weekend into your checking account before September 4 to ensure the money you may need is readily available for purchases, ATM withdrawals and other everyday banking needs over the weekend.
- If you use Comerica online or mobile banking, keep an eye on the mail for information you’ll need to set up your Fifth Third online banking access.
- Download the Fifth Third Mobile App before September 8.

What’s staying the same
- Your current Comerica debit card will continue to work without interruption.
- You can continue using your checking, savings and money market account and routing numbers without interruption.
- Direct deposits and recurring automatic payments and transfers will continue without interruption.
- You can continue to use your current Comerica-branded checks without interruption.
- Your local banking team remains available.
What’s changing
- Your Comerica accounts will transition to Fifth Third.
- You will have access to Fifth Third Online and Mobile Banking.
- Comerica branches will become Fifth Third branches.
Early August 2026
- You received information in the mail with details about your new Fifth Third accounts.
Late August 2026
- If you use Comerica online or mobile banking, you’ll receive your Fifth Third online and mobile banking login information by mail.
- To help avoid interruptions over Labor Day weekend, move any money you'll need for purchases, bill payments or ATM withdrawals into your checking account by September 4.
Friday, September 4 – Monday, September 7, 2026
- As we move your accounts to Fifth Third, there will be brief periods during which some Comerica online and mobile banking services will be unavailable. See below for details.
- Your money will stay safe and secure, your direct deposits and scheduled payments will continue on time and you will be able to use your debit card, checks and ATMs as usual throughout the weekend.

- Welcome to Fifth Third! Download the mobile app to start taking advantage of new ways to manage, protect and grow your money.
- Your existing account and routing numbers for checking and savings accounts and Comerica debit card and checks will continue to work, as will your direct deposits and scheduled payments.
Labor Day weekend availability
As we transition your accounts to Fifth Third, there will be brief periods during which some Comerica online and mobile banking services will be unavailable. Rest assured, your money is safe and secure. Use the schedule below to see when specific services are available.
How you'll log in on or after September 8
- Go to 53.com/enroll.
- Use your Comerica debit card and PIN or your account number and Social Security number for one-time identity verification.
- Set up your secure user ID and password.
- Follow the step-by-step guide to access your accounts and set up your preferences.
