Account Reconcilement Plan (ARP)

Reporting

  • Digital reports and coversheets will have a new look and feel, but most data will remain the same.
  • Partial recon clients will no longer receive the stop payment report.
  • Full Recon clients will all receive paid and outstanding reports.
  • Detailed account reconciliation reporting to identify your paid and outstanding items will be delivered electronically through Fifth Third Direct, rather than printed and mailed.
  • Your September account reconciliation report will be available via Fifth Third Direct.

File Format(s)

  • There will be no changes to current formats for handling inbound issue files or outbound paid check files.

Issue file upload

  • ARP Services File Upload templates will be transitioned for you into the File, Map & Import application in Fifth Third Direct. All templates will be moved as public templates for use by all entitled users. You will want to review and make any necessary edits once you have access to the system.

Alerts

  • Email alerts related to inbound and outbound files will be discontinued. You will have the ability to sign up for file confirmations within Fifth Third Direct after September 8.

Check images

  • Check images will be accessible through Integrated Search or Account Management within Fifth Third Direct.

Online functionality

  • You can continue to submit check issue, void, and stop payment requests using the channel that best fits your business needs. These items can be entered online through Check Management, uploaded using File Map and Import, or transmitted via Direct Transmission. Supported transactions include:
    • Check issues
    • Voids
    • Stop payments
    • For your convenience, stop payments submitted through any of these methods will be processed in ARP, helping to maintain a seamless and efficient workflow across your preferred submission methods.

Controlled Disbursement

Timing of information

  • Detailed presentment information will be available by 11:30 a.m. ET

Reporting

  • Totals will reflect check clearing activity only. You will have the ability to see any electronic transactions posting to your account in Account Management and use this to calculate daily funding requirements.

Funding

  • To help ensure sufficient funds are available for daily processing, please include both check and electronic transactions when calculating your daily funding amount. This means funding for the combined total of all daily presentments.
  • If additional funding flexibility is needed, your Relationship Manager can discuss working capital line options.

Check Positive Pay

Data/User Migration

  • Users, selected default disposition(s) and account history (issues, voids, stops and paid items) will be transferred to Fifth Third.

Check Positive Pay transition

If you currently subscribe to Comerica’s Reverse Positive Pay service, your service will transition based on your current use.

  • If you submit check issue information to the bank, you will be transitioned to Bank Maintained Positive Pay (BMPP) so you can continue submitting issue files.
  • If you do not submit check issue information to the bank, you will be transitioned to Customer Maintained Positive Pay (CMPP).

No action is required at this time. These changes are designed to align your ongoing Positive Pay service with your current practices while continuing to help protect your accounts from check fraud.

  • Bank-Maintained Check Positive Pay compares paid items against the issue information you provided, presenting you with only exceptions to review.
  • Customer-Maintained Check Positive Pay presents all paid items to you for review.
  • With both solutions, you will be able to see images of exception items.

Check decisioning deadline

  • All Check Positive Pay exception item decisions must be made by 5:00 p.m. ET.  (Previously 3:00 p.m. local time for Comerica customers in the Michigan and Texas markets)

Stop payment items

  • Items with stop payments will be presented as exceptions, giving you the opportunity to return them the next day.

Alerts

  • Positive Pay exception item alerts will be included for all accounts. You will continue to receive these alerts until all items are decisioned for the day.
