Fifth Third Bank Announces 2008 Fifth Third Scholarship Program Recipients


Fifth Third Foundation Awards 17 Students with $42,500 in Scholarships

Fifth Third Bank today announced winners of the 2008 Fifth Third Scholarship Program. Established in 2004 by the Fifth Third Foundation and administered by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, the Fifth Third Scholarship Program seeks to annually recognize and reward the academic and civic achievements of children of Fifth Third employees. Each winner receives a one-time scholarship of $2,500 for undergraduate study at a college or university.

Chosen by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation from applications throughout Fifth Third Bank’s footprint, the 2008 Fifth Third Scholarship Program recipients are:

  • Brian T. Bradley, son of Robert Bradley, Greater Cincinnati
  • Patrick R. Bussard, son of Dan Bussard, Greater Cincinnati
  • David Reed Coggins, son of David Coggins, Louisville

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) is an independent not-for-profit organization. The Merit program was designed to identify and honor exceptionally able high school students, and to provide a system of services for corporations, foundations and other organizations that wish to sponsor college undergraduate scholarships to students who interest them. All aspects of the selection of winners and the administration of their awards are handled by the NMSC.
