Fifth Third Investment Advisors Launches CustomPlus Portfolio Management

Investment Solution Employs an Open Architecture Approach
to Help Clients Achieve Their Current and Future Financial Goals

Fifth Third Investment Advisors today announced the re-launch of their separate investment management solution, now called CustomPlus Portfolio Management, to better meet the needs of their high-net-worth and institutional clients while keeping pace with industry trends.

Targeting clients or institutions with $1 million or more in assets to invest, CustomPlus Portfolio Management combines a customized approach to investment management plus access to separately managed account models from a select group of nationally recognized money managers.

Fifth Third uses its own due diligence process to screen the universe of outside boutique managers and develop the select group of managers. In partnership with a wealth planning discipline, the local Fifth Third portfolio manager objectively uses an open architecture approach to portfolio construction, with the ability to select from a combination of separately managed account (SMA) solutions from either the Fifth Third approved outside money managers or Fifth Third proprietary styles, individual equities, fixed income securities, well-known mutual funds including Fifth Third Funds, Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) and alternative assets.

As clients meet with their Fifth Third portfolio manager, thoughtful consideration is given to how managers will fit together to help deliver on clients’ desired outcomes.

“Fifth Third’s investment management process is based on dynamic asset allocation and begins with a thorough understanding of our clients’ goals and financial concerns as they relate to the need for current income, capital appreciation and capital preservation, and then structuring a custom portfolio to help deliver on those desired outcomes,” said David J. Pittman, president of Fifth Third Investment Advisors. “Providing access to outside money managers is critical to filling in asset allocation and diversification gaps within a high-net-worth or institutional client’s portfolio. CustomPlus Portfolio Management allows us to objectivity meet the client’s needs while providing the option of greater tax efficiency and flexible implementation.”
