You Say When

Just tell Fifth Third the bill payment date that works best for you—your payday, near the due date or another date of your choice. Schedule online bill payments when you want them paid. (The earliest available payment date will automatically be provided by our payments calendar.) Please allow at least one business day before the due date for payments sent electronically and at least five business days for payments sent by check via the US Postal system.

Due Date Model

Funds will be withdrawn from your account when your bills are due...not days before.

With our Due Date Model, your bills will be paid on their due date, keeping funds in your account until the date the payment is due. This is similar to writing a check, since funds are not deducted from your account until the check is cashed.

Working Balance

As you pay your bills, Online Bill Payment takes into account your pending and scheduled payments and provides a working balance to help you keep track of your available funds.

Manage Your Payees

Manage Your Payees provides a convenient snap shot of your billing information. You're able to create, edit and delete payees, assign categories to assist in tracking your payments, and set up visual reminders to let you know when bills are due. Our at-a-glance layout lets you see payee names, account numbers, billing status, and the number of days before bills are due. Manage Your Payees also allows you to initiate payments and provides easy access to e-bill setup, statements, and recent payments.

Customized Reports

You can create customized reports to help analyze spending habits and research payment dates.

Email Alerts

When using Online Bill Payment, you may receive periodic security alerts by email. These alerts will keep you informed of changes to the information and bill payment activity in your account so you can be sure that only the bills you authorize are being paid.

Important Changes to the Fifth Third Bank Online Bill Payment System

We understand that paying your bills online quickly and easily is important to you. To make sure your experience with the new Online Bill Payment system is as smooth as possible, we want to highlight some noteworthy changes.

New Due Date

Along with enhanced features and functionality, a significant change with the new system is a new Due Date Model. The previous system required you to deduct payments from your account up to five days before a bill's due date. With the new system bills are paid on their due date leaving funds in your account until that date. A working balance within the system helps you keep track of your available funds, taking scheduled payments into consideration.

Payment Data Transfer

To make the transition easier for you, we have transferred all your payment information to our new system, and your scheduled payment dates are updated to reflect the due dates of your bills. In addition, Fifth Third guarantees to successfully complete your online bill payments by the date you schedule, and will pay associated fees if the payment is not properly made.*

New Payee Tool

Take control of your bills with our new flexible payee tool. No need to jump from one site to another to pay your bills online—all of your payees are organized in an easily updatable format that gives you an at-a-glance view of information and reminds you when bills need to be paid.

E-mail Alerts

We have also added enhanced email security alerts. After your transition to the new system, you may start receiving email alerts about bill payment transactions. This is how we will keep you informed of activity in your bill pay account.

To learn more about this change and other features of the new system, please use any or all of these helpful options:

We’re Changing ... for the better.

To better serve you, we’re making significant upgrades to our Online Bill Payment system.

Get ready for a whole new Online Bill Payment experience. We’ve made enhancements throughout our Online Bill Payment system to help make bill paying easy and seamless as possible.

Important Changes

Due Date Model

Now funds will be withdrawn from your account when your bills are due...not days before.

Our new Due Date Model is the most important change we've made to your Online Bill Payment experience. The previous system required you to deduct payments from your account up to five days before a bill's due date. With the new system, your bills will be paid on their due date, keeping funds in your account until the date the payment is due. This is similar to writing a check, since funds are not deducted from your account until the check is cashed.

The system accounts for pending and scheduled payments and provides a working balance to help you keep track of your available funds. Remember, there is no longer a need to pre-date payments with the new Due Date Model. You can learn more about the new Due Date Model in our Frequently Asked Questions.

Payment Data Transfer

We're making the move to our new system simple. There are no calls to make, no emails to send. We'll automatically transfer your existing payment information, including:

  • Payees
  • Pending payments
  • 13 months of history †
  • Repeating payments (Auto-pay)

You may notice a change in the dates on which your bills will be paid. Remember, the new system no longer requires you to pre-date bills, so your scheduled payments will be updated to reflect the actual due dates. Fifth Third guarantees to successfully complete your online bill payments by their due dates, and will pay any associated fees if payments are not properly made.*

E-mail Alerts

We have also added enhanced email security alerts. After your transition to the new system, you may start receiving email alerts about bill payment transactions. This is how we will keep you informed of activity in your bill payment account.
