Employer of the Year Award, Division on Career Development and Transition

October 2013

Fifth Third Bancorp recently received, for the second year in a row, the Employer of the Year Award from the Division on Career Development and Transition, an organization that promotes career development and transition services for persons with disabilities worldwide. This award is presented to an employer or business that has shown remarkable commitment to promoting or providing employment opportunities to students with disabilities. The Bank was recognized for its commitment to hiring and engaging people with disabilities, structuring teams so anyone and everyone can contribute successfully and its work with Project SEARCH, a transition-to-work training program that provides marketable and competitive skill-building opportunities to young adults with disabilities. Fifth Third also offers business resource groups in each affiliate for various constituents and allies, including people with disabilities.

March 2013

Brand Finance, an independent global brand valuation consultancy, recently ranked Fifth Third Bank #100 on its list of the Top 500 Most Valuable Banking Brands in the world. The Top 500 was based on intangible asset valuations by Brand Finance. Fifth Third Bank received a rating of AA for "very strong" and was among the top 25 US financial institutions to make the list.


2012 Model Bank Award, Celent

August 2012

Fifth Third Bank has won the 2012 Model Bank award for its integrated receivables solutions from the research and consulting firm, Celent. The Bank received this honor for a comprehensive tailored solution that included its remote cash capture smart safe solution, Remote Currency Manager (RCM), its remote deposit capture solution, Electronic Deposit Manager (EDM), deposit tracking through Brink's iDeposit system and Brink's Deposit Express (BDEX), a deposit mailing solution. Fifth Third Bank is among 21 financial institutions from across 10 countries recognized by Celent as industry leaders for their best online and technology practices.

Most Trusted Retail Banks for Privacy

Fifth Third Bank ranked second on the Ponemon Institute's list of the 2011 Most Trusted Retail Banks for Privacy. A privacy and information security research firm, the Ponemon Institute ranked Fifth Third Bank as part of its 2011 Privacy Trust Study for Retail Banking designed to measure and examine how issues related to consumer privacy and data security, and the ways in which retail banking institutes address those issues, translate to consumer opinion.


2012 Leading Companies for Employees with Disabilities

Fifth Third Bank was named one of the 2012 Leading Companies for Employees with Disabilities, presented by Profiles in Diversity Journal. Fifth Third was chosen based on criteria such as its policies for hiring and advancing employees with disabilities; special programs and accommodation to support employees with disabilities; training to help employees work with and serve employees and people with disabilities; creating partnerships and using suppliers that advocate for those with disabilities; and programs that champion employees with disabilities, such as Project SEARCH, Fifth Third's transition-to-work program for young adults with disabilities.

Rankings for the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption’s Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces list are determined by an analysis of a company's adoption benefits – financial reimbursement and paid leave – available to employees. The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption is America’s only nonprofit public charity dedicated exclusively to finding permanent homes for the 107,000 children waiting in foster care to be adopted.
